This comes as an afterthought to my bro's thoughts......
he was just wondering ....for just one tick of clock, for that single split second....why millions of people are ready to vibe in their own ways....spend fortunes....make this second the uniquemost.................
what i could simply think was ..... a year being a full cycle of earth around sun..also is completion of a cycle in our lives...a cycle of achievements, a cycle of mistakes, a cycle of beautiful memories, a cycle of tragedies.....with the ending being a formal acknowledgment of all that is bygone, and appreciation of all that is to come...... for soo many this cycle can be a day long....or week..or month...and for few a year is only a part of this cycle...
still...the year stands as a universal measure of life's life! Probably this justifies those several celebrations for this "one second". With the learning from bygone years, and resolutions to make the coming ones much better...... wish these cycles keep enriching our lives!

I had the similar argument with bhavna also...she said ki 31st ki night hai ...new year start ho raha hai ..kisi dinner pe chaltey hai ..but paise bahut lagengey...mera argument tha ki ...apna reference point ..change kar lo paise bach jayengey :)
"an year is a measure of life's life" hmm...but i kind of still don't understand all the paparazzi and glitterati attached to 'days'... any kind of days...I feel Birthdays are still a measure of an year coming full circle...but new years...which btw is celebrated at different times across the world...the same event...and stuff like V-day etc. etc. seems to be like mere excuses...
(prejudiced mebbe!)
if Birthdays could be a measure of your life, then it could be for a matter of point of view, any day for a person.....or none for people looking at birthdays as a loss of one year of their life...
wotever pov u take....at times it is quite justified to enjoi life the way u love to! and i know u do :)
